Cotney Law services North Florida and South Georgia through its office in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Cotney is 5th generation from Jacksonville, Florida with deep roots and ties to the area. Mr. Cotney’s family was involved in construction in Jacksonville. On his mother’s side, Mr. Cotney’s family owns Paschal Brothers Hardware Store and a lumber yard. On his father’s side, Mr. Cotney’s family owned a chain of retail tire stores, Cotney Tires, throughout the Jacksonville area. Mr. Cotney’s grandfather, Hoyt Cotney, was Mayor of the City of Orange Park, Florida and through his charitable and civic contributions helped make Orange Park the thriving City that exists today.  Mr. Cotney’s father, Hugh Cotney, is a well-known attorney in Jacksonville that has practiced for more than 40 years, and has been recognized by his peers for his outstanding accomplishments and commitment to Jacksonville  including being named Lawyer of the Year by the Jacksonville Bar Association (1986), serving as Chairman of the Jacksonville Mayor’s advisory committee on ethics in local government and serving as Chairman for the Duval County Hospital Authority.
